Brasil Auto Parts: a new brand and a renewed partnership

Now in its 15th edition, BAP was renewed for another two years, and will carry out trade promotion activities in several countries.
In June this year, the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) and the National Association of Brazilian Auto Parts Manufacturers (Sindipeças) renewed the partnership that gave rise to the Brasil Auto Parts project (BAP).
BAP was created to promote the internationalization of the auto parts industry by encouraging Brazilian companies to engage in activities and events focused on the international market. The project prompts member companies to participate in fairs, trade missions to target countries, and business rounds with importers from various regions of the world that come to Brazil for individual meetings and previously scheduled technical visits.
In the latest edition of the project, in 2023 and 2024, 190 companies participated in two business rounds with 33 foreign buyers, showcased their products at nine fairs abroad, and went on a trade mission to Chile. As a result, the Brazilian manufacturers made 9.9 thousand business contacts with potential buyers from Latin America, Africa, Europe, and the United States.
Manufacturing sector exports grew by 8% in the first quarter of 2025, and sales totaled US$ 1.97 billion, compared to US$ 1.82 billion over the same period in 2024. This year, the first fair attended by BAP members was Expopartes Bogota in June (full coverage in this edition). In July, 19 factories were present at the Latin Tyre & Parts Expo Panama.
Fernanda Garavello, BAP’s coordinator, believes that this new biennium will offer a great opportunity for the member companies to advance their internationalization initiatives. “Every time we renew our project, we advance our strategic planning and strengthen our image and presence in the markets of interest,” says Garavello.
With that in mind, rebranding efforts were made in the first half of 2025, driven by the willingness to spread the word about all these activities and build strong brand awareness for BAP.
Fernando Roberto, a Staff Marketing Analyst at Sindipeças, points out that such change was inspired by the business dynamics of the automotive industry, and the concepts were aligned with a brand voice which highlights the relevance of Brazilian auto parts manufacturers.
Roberto explains that this new positioning reinforces attributes such as trust, connection, excellence in trade relationship, and a customer-oriented approach to service.
“The new identity is very synergistic with the Abipeças/Sindipeças brand. It uses a stylized design of the Brazilian flag in blue color and modern lines, and seeks to represent the industry’s strong commitment to sustainable mobility, quality, and technology”, says Roberto.

Planning is at the core of the internationalization of Brazilian auto parts

The first half of 2025 was centered around the design of institutional plans and actions. The next 18 months will be focused on international trade promotion events.
In the first quarter of 2025, the Brasil Auto Parts team was quite busy: not only did they put in a great deal of effort to renew the agreement to carry on with trade promotion activities, but also worked hand in hand with the marketing department to rebrand the project. On top of that, they were deeply involved in other activities of the industry, such as the 5th Meeting of the Auto Parts Industry, organized every two years by Sindipeças.
The event brought together players from the mobility chain on April 24, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil, during Automec, the largest auto parts trade fair in Latin America. International visitors were welcomed to the fair by the BAP team and the exhibiting manufacturers, as many of them had their own booths.
The keynote speaker, Dan Ioschpe, is the Vice Chairman of Fiesp (The Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo), a high-level climate champion for COP30, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Iochpe-Maxion, and a member of the Board of Directors of Abipeças and Sindipeças. In his talk, he addressed the relevance of topics for the industry, such as internationalization, reshoring, and sustainability. In addition, two panel discussions were held: one presented the evolution and perspectives of the Mover program, and one sparked debate on how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used effectively.
Following the renewed agreement for cooperation between ApexBrasil and Sindipeças for the 2025-2026 biennium, two events have already been held: Expopartes in Bogotá on June 4-6, and Latin Tyre & Parts in Panama on July 9-11. Forthcoming events include a trade mission to South Africa on September 15-19 , and a business round in São Paulo on October 13-17. The member companies of BAP will be participating in three other events that are scheduled for November: AAPEX Las Vegas (Nov. 4-6), in the United States, Agritechnica Hannover, in Germany (Nov. 9-15), and Expotransporte Guadalajara, in Mexico (Nov. 12-14).
And there are several events planned for 2026: Automechanika Buenos Aires, in Argentina (April); West Africa Automotive Show, in Nigeria (May); Feria Autopartes Medellin, in Colombia (June); Automechanika Frankfurt, in Germany (September); the Business Round in São Paulo (October); and AAPEX Las Vegas, in the United States (November).

Brazil stood out not only for having a high number of exhibitors – a total of 40 (Autolínea, Autotravi, Cestari, Chiptronic, DNI, DPF, DS, Duroline, Fama, Freios Farj, Hescher, Hengst, IABV, Indisa, KSPG, Marchetti, Marília, Metalmatrix, Mobensani, Monpar, Nino Faróis, Partium, Platodiesel, Quinelato, Rainha das Sete, Ranalle, Reserplastic, Schunk, Settori, Susin, Suporte Rei, SYL, TC Chicotes, Tecfil, Track, Triade, TSA, Universal, Vannucci, and Viemar) - but also for making a total of 1,231 business contacts, 875 of which were new ones. In addition to Colombia and Brazil, the event attracted visitors from countries such as Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, the United States, and Venezuela.
According to data surveyed by the BAP team, 90% of the participating companies expressed an interest in attending the next edition of the fair, and they highlighted the relevance of the Colombian market and the effectiveness of the platform for the internationalization of Brazilian products.
In addition, officials from the Department of Communications of the Brazilian Embassy in Bogotá visited the fair to reinforce diplomatic ties with Colombia and to support the business activities of the industry.
The participation of the member companies of Brazil Auto Parts in Expopartes Bogotá was the first of a series of trade promotion activities planned for the 2025-26 biennium.

Suspentech sets ambitious targets to increase exports

The company relies on research, development, and productive capacity to open new markets in Latin America and the United States.
Air springs, the flagship of Brazilian manufacturer Suspentech, have been gaining momentum thanks to the company’s ambitious internationalization strategy, grounded in investment in team building, strategic planning, development of new product lines, visits to target markets, and presence in international events.
Founded more than 20 years ago, Suspentech started focusing more closely on exports over the last three years, after they decided to expand their international sales operations, which until then used to be in the hands of traders. In 2022, Suspentech first liaised with Brasil Auto Parts with the purpose of exhibiting at the Expopartes Bogotá trade show. The company was confirmed as an exhibitor in the 2023 edition of the fair, and during the event, it took the opportunity to ‘feel’ the market and forecast the demand for its products. As a result of business interactions and networking, as well as the post-event follow-up, Suspentech successfully made its first sales to the Colombian market in as early as 2024.
“At Expopartes Bogotá, we networked with importers who needed products for North American models. We developed those products, and now we export them to three bus manufacturers. And we may expand our operations to supply the truck segment,” says Daniel Nicolini, Suspentech's Sales Director.
The plan to achieve this result was based on the following criteria: similarity with the Brazilian fleet, and the company’s experience. After that, Suspentech defined the target countries and the number of customers that could be supplied. The managers at Suspentech - which is now a leader in the Brazilian aftermarket for tractors, trucks, cabins, and axle lifts, and the third largest supplier of bus parts - know pretty well how far they want to go.
One example of their endeavors was mentioned above: while most competitors were focused only on the European market, they developed products to meet the needs of customers in North America. Another measure of success is the regular launch of new products. “Today there are more than 750 items in our portfolio, and for the North American market alone, we released 25 models in the last two years,” says Nicolini.
To ensure excellent customer service and implement its business plan for international expansion, Suspentech opened a manufacturing plant in 2024 to produce shock absorbers, a key item to enhance its portfolio.
After participating in the Brazilian pavilion organized by BAP in 2023, Suspentech felt the need to further strengthen its presence in the Colombian market. In 2025, the company debuted its own stand at Expopartes Bogotá.
“We have a large product, which ultimately requires plenty of space. As individual exhibitors, we managed to make a great deal of business contacts, and we are already sending quotes to potential clients from other Latin American countries, like Ecuador, Mexico, and Venezuela. Also, we have had the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with our current clients in the region, for example, those from Argentina and Uruguay”, says Nicolini.
Suspentech also used its own stand in Panama, which made it easier to liaise with potential clients from Central America and from countries such as Bolivia, Chile, and Peru. This helped the company speed up the pace to its internationalization.
“We expect 10% of our revenue to come from exports in as early as 2025. And our goal is to increase this rate to 15% in 2026. We are excited and ready to put our plan into practice,” says Nicolini.
