Meeting in Brazil boosts export of auto parts

The 15th Business Round hosted by Brasil Auto Parts was attended by 18 importers and 68 local manufacturers, and a revenue of around USD 2.6 million is expected in the short term.

Between October 12 and 17, São Paulo was a meeting point for distributors and importers from nine countries interested in gaining further insights into the Brazilian auto parts industry. The initiative brought together 18 buyers from Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Panama, Peru and United States. The program of the event included meetings and technical visits organized by Brasil Auto Parts (BAP), an export incentive project carried out by the National Association of Brazilian Auto Parts Manufacturers (Sindipeças) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).

A total of 68 Brazilian manufacturers engaged in a great number of activities. At the end of six days, they had 571 meetings, went on 43 visits to 18 industrial plants, and made 619 business contacts. Initial estimates indicate that negotiations could generate business deals worth approximately USD 2.6 million in the short term and USD 8.2 million over the next 12 months.

The feedback from the participants highlighted the importance of this type of initiative for the sector. Erica Barros, of HandCraft Sistemas de Embreagens, highlighted the dynamics of the event. “This initiative is an excellent opportunity to connect the supply chains of the sector in a practical and assertive way, bringing importers and Brazilian suppliers closer together,” she said.

Vagner Matheus, sales manager at Rainha da Sete, participated in the business round to liaise with buyers from the countries that are current export destinations for the company’s products, like Argentina and Colombia. Both Matheus and Adriano Oliveira, of Bins, believe that this event has a very important role because it helps Brazilian companies come into contact with world-class international buyers.

The other participants have a similar opinion. Silvia Marques, of Dayco, pointed out that face-to-face interaction has a positive impact at a time when there are fewer and fewer international events. “Interacting with so many companies at once is very helpful. Bringing an important customer over to the plant was central to further strengthening our relationship. Brasil Auto Parts plays a key role in fostering this connection.”

Importers felt that new channels were opened for future negotiations. “It was a very positive experience, and we are willing to advance negotiations with some suppliers", said Oscar Ortiz of Ormos Colombia. Another Colombian company - Munsus, from Medellin - also provided favorable feedback.

Likewise, Nicolás Ochoa, of South America Parts, highlighted the beneficial impact of the event. In his opinion, the interactions among the participants created different opportunities for them to evolve with high-level suppliers. “It’s our first time in the rounds and we’re looking for opportunities to distribute Brazilian products for the heavy-duty line.” For Diego Schmithalter, of Andretich Argentina, the event’s organization and attention to detail “made everyone feel at home.”

Victoria Lewkun, of the German group FEBI, focused on seeking suppliers to work under a private label system, because the group needs different manufacturers to meet the distribution demand for their products across Europe. As with FEBI, the representative of Colombia’s Freniteca believes that after this meeting, the company will soon start doing business with Brazilian manufacturers.

The overall feedback shows a consensus. All the participants expressed an interest in coming to the next edition in 2026. The week in São Paulo showed that the industry shows promising numbers, is reliable, and continues to attract the attention of importers seeking new suppliers and greater integration with global supply chains.

Brasil Auto Parts wraps up 2025 with three major international trade shows

Brazilian auto parts manufacturers have strengthened their presence in the United States, Mexico, and Germany by respectively participating in the AAPEX Las Vegas, Expo Transporte ANPACT Guadalajara, and Agritechnica Hannover trade shows.

Brasil Auto Parts (BAP) organized Brazilian pavilions at three international trade shows in November 2025: AAPEX Las Vegas, Expo Transporte ANPACT Guadalajara, and Agritechnica Hannover. These trade fairs brought together manufacturers, distributors, and buyers from various countries, and exhibitors could catch up with market demands, showcase their products, and strengthen existing trade relations.

AAPEX Las Vegas 2025

Eighteen BAP member companies participated in AAPEX from November 4 to 6, showcasing their products to potential customers from the automotive aftermarket of the United States and surroundings. During the three days of the event, the Brazilian exhibitors earned USD 1,035,000 in immediate business and an estimated revenue of USD 4,420,000 in new sales agreements is expected over the next 12 months.

The delegation was composed of the companies Autolínea, Centralsul, Click, Keko, KSPG, Mangels, MHT Ampri, Partium, Pradolux, Rainha das Sete, Robiel, Starcast, Suporte Rei, Suspentech, Susin, SYL, Track, and Viemar. Together, they made 347 business contacts - of which 247 were new ones.

The exhibitors interacted with buyers from several countries other than the United States, namely Argentina, Bahamas, Canada, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Egypt, El Salvador, Ecuador, Germany, Guatemala, Israel, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.

Expo Transporte ANPACT Guadalajara 2025

This Mexican trade show was held between November 12 and 14 at Expo Guadalajara, and offered great business opportunities for 23 Brazilian exhibitors (Autolinea, Autotravi, Cestari, Contec, DNI, Fama, Farj, Hengst, IABV, KSPG, MIC, Nino Faróis, Partium, Platodiesel, Quinelato, Ranalle, Suporte Rei, SYL, Tecfil, Tecnomotor, Top Relay, Vannucci, and Vulcaflex).

The companies racked up USD 800 thousand in immediate business and expect another USD 2.495 million in prospective negotiations over the next 12 months. Also, they made 508 new business contacts, and 618 in total. The pavilion welcomed visitors from Latin America, North America, the Caribbean, and Asia.

Maurício Moraes, export manager of Platodiesel, explained why he believes Brazilian companies should be present in events like this. “Ehxibiting in this type of trade show is an opportunity to be close to our customers, understand their demands, and strengthen our performance in the region. This is only possible thanks to the work done by BAP,” he said.

Carlos Junges, Director of Operations at Reserplastic, a BAP member company that had its own booth at ANPACT, stressed the role of the host country for boosting business activities. “Mexico acts as a link with the US market and the entire continent. It is an excellent opportunity to present our new products to prospective US buyers, who are increasingly present in the region,” he said.

The Vannucci Group also positively evaluated its second participation in the trade show. “We have received many visits. The Mexican market is big and promising, and we’re willing to increase our participation here”, the company’s representatives said.

Luiz Constâncio, Foreign Trade Manager of Suporte Rei, stressed that the company is aligned with the local market. “Expo Transporte Guadalajara offers important opportunities to expand our participation in Mexico, both in the heavy-duty line and in components,” he said.

Manuel Rivas, export manager at Tecnomotor, assessed the company’s debut at ANPACT as positive. “We’re first-timers at the trade show, and we want to test the market, understand the needs of customers, and boost new businesses. We hope this will be our first of many,” he said.

Eloa Duques, from Mic, emphasized the strategic role of the event. “This is a strategic market for us, and the trade show always attracts important visitors. It is also an opportunity to meet our customers again,” he said.

Miguel Magalhães, export manager at Indisa, evaluated the impact of the trade show on the company’s heavy-duty line. “This is a key event for the Mexican market, where we are already present. Our goal now is to expand distribution. We’ve worked really hard, and we’re now presenting new releases within the more than 26 lines that we have developed”, he said.

Agritechnica Hannover 2025

BAP's international calendar ended with Agritechnica, held from November 9 to 15, in Hannover, Germany. The event brought together 10 Brazilian manufacturers (D.S. Schiavetto, Dynamics, Fundição BB, Indisa, Prometeon, Robiel, SPARC, Suporte Rei, Susin Francescutti and VV- Venturoso and Valentini) and potential buyers and distributors from various countries, especially visitors from more than 20 countries. While attending the largest agricultural technology trade show in the world, they made 504 business contacts, with 386 being new ones. Besides, they earned USD 157,000 in immediate business and expect revenues of USD 1,855,000 over the next 12 months.

For Antonio Carlos Benetão, of Suporte Rei, the event was an important step for the company’s new performance in the segment. “We have been partners of BAP for decades, and now that Rei Auto Partes has joined the group and focused on agriculture, we seek to increase our presence in this sector. Agritechnica was essential for this,” he said.

Lucas Lopes, of Robiel, commented that exhibiting in the trade show has helped them to better understand the behavior of the agricultural market. “We want to expand our business and better understand agribusiness trends. Agritechnica helps us to keep up with developments and direct our actions to what the segment really needs,” he said.

For Luana Schiavetto, of DS, being in the Brazilian pavilion makes it easier to approach new companies and prospective business contacts. “Exhibiting in the pavilion is a way to share experiences and have access to new markets. It opens many doors, strengthens relationships, and creates points of contact. It adds value on several fronts,” she said.

Rogério Matioli, of FBB, noted that the trade show attracts high-quality participants from a wide range of countries. “As the world’s largest agricultural technology trade show, Agritechnica is an extraordinary showcase. The sector is heated, and we are visited by customers from all over the world,” he said.

For 2026, BAP’s calendar includes Automechanika Buenos Aires (Argentina, April 8–11), Hannover Messe (Germany, April 20–24), West Africa Automotive Show (Nigeria, May 12–14), Autopartes Medellin (Colombia, July 2–4), Automechanika Frankfurt (Germany, September 8–12), the 16th edition of Rodada de Negócios Brasil (“Brazil Business Round”) in October, and AAPEX Las Vegas (USA, November 3–5). Stay tuned!

From a small company to a benchmark in brake systems worldwide

SYL, a manufacturer of brake pads, brake shoes, and spare parts, has diversified its portfolio and target markets to boost business.

SYL is a Brazilian brake system manufacturer that will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026 as a leader in the domestic market and a benchmark in the sector in various corners of the world. The company was started after briefly operating as an importer in the late 1990s, when logistical difficulties and exchange rate instability showed that it could only expand its business in Brazil as a manufacturer.

After setting up its factory, SYL began to grow and, in the early 2000s, it started exporting its products. During this process, it used technologies that were uncommon in Brazil at the time. The company released the first responsive online catalog in the segment and created its own codes, which became standard among auto repair garages and distributors. Nowadays, SYL’s portfolio showcases more than 1,500 items. “Caring for those at the end of the process, especially garages and their mechanics, is one of the most important values of our brand,” said Avi Gelberg, the company’s president.

The search for robust solutions led SYL to introduce carbon fiber in Brazil in its line of brake pads - known as SYL CARBON - for heavy-duty vehicles and severe situations. Because safety is at the heart of SYL’s business, it follows strict production standards, including certifications such as ISO 9001 for quality management, INMETRO for approval and certification of products in Brazil, and international certifications such as ECE-R90, Chaz, and AMECA. “The company’s engineering department, composed of more than twelve experts, is focused on research and development, always in partnership with recognized laboratories that run tests according to global protocols,” said Avi.

SYL diversifies its portfolio on a regular basis. The company releases between six and ten new items every month and currently offers components for electric cars and new vehicles produced by large automakers. In addition, it diversifies its markets, which currently include almost all Latin American countries, the United States, the Middle East, and Europe, and supplies to global brands. “In recent years, SYL has also produced custom-made items for foreign customers. A striking case was the design of a part requested by an American company for a German model, which we developed in about 40 days,” said Gelberg.

But what makes SYL a benchmark company is not only its business strategy or its economic goals, but its vision focused on social responsibility - right from the start. The company has about 730 employees, many from the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba, in the state of São Paulo, and undertakes its own social initiatives, like education and employment opportunities targeted at young people. During the pandemic, it restored a local primary health care unit. “Our philosophy is clear. Companies can and should contribute to a better world. If each one does their part, we'll make a big difference”, said Gelberg.

SYL’s journey demonstrates its continuous evolution, supported by innovation, attention to the market, respect for its front-line workers, and social responsibility. Together, these elements have helped this Sorocaba-based manufacturer to earn wide recognition.
