Implementing, consolidating, and following up on planned actions are commitments for 2024
Another year has been successfully completed in the Brasil Auto Parts Project, which leverages the Brazilian auto parts industry around the world. This is a time to thank everyone involved and celebrate the results achieved so far. 2023 also marked the 70th anniversary of Sindipeças (National Association of Brazilian Auto Parts Manufacturers), which carries out a sectoral project to boost exports in partnership with ApexBrasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency) and has been long committed to developing the sector.
This year, BAP reached new heights by creating strategic business partnerships and exploring international opportunities. An agenda has already been established for 2024 to enable such work to continue. We will participate in a Trade mission in Chile in the first quarter and in the Automechanika Buenos Aires fair in Argentina in April. In July, we will be present at the Latin Parts Expo fair in Panama, and will continue to establish strategic partnerships at fairs such as Automechanika Frankfurt in Germany in September and AAPEX Las Vegas in the United States in November. Please check the calendar of events at our website.
All the actions planned by BAP are meant to consolidate partnerships, broaden one’s knowledge of new technologies, and seize valuable networking opportunities, and they reflect the project’s commitment to expanding horizons beyond national borders. Therefore, as this year closes and a new year is at our doorstep, we would like to reinforce our gratitude for your continued trust and support. May we all accomplish our goals, keep growing, and have the chance to go further and further in 2024. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May we continue to move forward together, building a promising future for the Brazilian auto parts industry.
Brasil Auto Parts will recess from December 20, 2023 to January 4, 2024. See you all soon! |

Business and vision of the future marked Brazil’s participation in AAPEX Las Vegas and Agritechnica Hannover fairs
The pavilions at trade fairs AAPEX Las Vegas in October and Agritechnica Hannover in November hosted the last event on the trade promotion calendar of Brasil Auto Parts in 2023. These fairs helped Brazilian companies to explore new opportunities and expand their network of contacts.
A total of 16 Brazilian manufacturers participated in AAPEX Las Vegas: ABR, Autolinea, Centralsul, HipperFreios, KSPG, Metalúrgica Iguaçu, Metalúrgica RIOsulense, Metalmatrix, Maringá, MecPar, Plasticomp, Tecfil, TC Chicotes, Tecnomotor, and Suporte Rei.
Thanks to their presence at the fair, the companies earned USD 2.287 million in immediate business and have an estimated potential revenue of USD 9.730 million for the next year. The exhibitors made 395 business contacts (223 new ones). The Brazilian pavilion was visited by representatives of companies from the United States, Mexico, Canada, Costa Rica, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Chile, Guatemala, Japan, and Australia, which means the Brazilian exhibitors aroused great interest.
Andrios Ismael Stobbe, Centralsul’s export agent, told us what the company’s experience was like when exhibiting in Las Vegas. “We have been able to meet several clients, especially those from the region and from neighboring countries, like Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama. We closed deals with several of these countries. It is not a fair like the others; the focus here is really on sales. We have taken advantage of the opportunities,” says Stobbe.
Giovanna Zanetti Largura, Foreign Trade Analyst at Metallurgical Iguaçu, has the same opinion. She believes that Iguaçu’s participation in the 2022 and 2023 editions reaped many benefits. “Last year we worked on prospecting, and now we managed to close deals with four clients: one Argentinian, one Mexican, one Peruvian, and one from Honduras. For us, it is a strategic event that should always be on the calendar”, says Largura.
Veronica Viana, from PLASTICOMP, thinks that Sindipeças, ApexBrasil, and Brasil Auto Parts provide generous support for this type of initiative, which helps companies develop further and be successful.
In Germany, our trusted partners Agral, Biagio Turbos, D.S. Schiavetto, FBB, Indisa, Metalmatrix, Sparc by Tuzzi, Suporte Rei, Tupy, and Venturoso Valentini were present at Agritechnica Hannover, which is considered the world’s largest technology fair for the agricultural sector.
The participating companies reported that the event made an invaluable contribution to their internationalization strategy. They made 503 business contacts and earned USD 155.5 thousand in immediate business, in addition to an estimated potential revenue of USD 1.420 million in the next 12 months.
FBB is a company with 38 years of experience on the market, and it serves other segments in addition to Agribusiness. It exports to 15 countries, mostly in the Americas. Sales manager Robson Barbizan came to the fair with the intention of breaking barriers and pursuing sales opportunities in Europe, a continent where it does not yet operate. “Our stand received many visits, and our participation in the fair will expand our brand and also boost business deals in Brazil and abroad,” says Barbizan. “We also wish to explore new markets, ideas, technologies, and trends, following the evolution of the market,” says Rogério Matioli, the company’s commercial manager.
César Bonacini, from Tuzzi, highlighted Agritechnica’s strategic relevance for companies to expand their businesses and explore new markets, especially in Europe, and unlock a significant potential for increased exports. Tuzzi was in the Brazilian pavilion with its newly launched brand focused on the aftermarket, Sparc by Tuzzi, and sponsored a pre-fair event in the field of agricultural technology called Land Technik. Also, the company exhibited with its own stand to show the strength of its performance in the original market as a supplier to large agricultural machinery manufacturers.
“We mean to show our capacity for the European and the global markets. Our exports currently account for 20% of our turnover and we expect to raise this share to 30%. The fair was very good in this respect because we achieved our goals. We came with a team of nine employees, and in the eyes of our major competitors, we came across as a sustainable and high-quality alternative", says Bonacini.
Both fairs, AAPEX Las Vegas and Agritechnica Hannover, provided opportunities for Brazilian companies to expand their international presence, make new business contacts, and explore new markets. Keep up to date with these and other achievements of our work at our website. |

The company has gained international presence and wants to conquer the world through sustainability-oriented projects
Tupy is a company that develops and produces structural components in cast iron with high geometric and metallurgical complexity, and it is present in the most diverse segments, such as cargo transportation, infrastructure, agribusiness, and energy generation. Therefore, it is an example of success in the international market.
Founded in Brazil 85 years ago, Tupy employs around 20 thousand people and has factories in various parts of the globe, including Brazil, Mexico, and Portugal, as well as international offices in various locations. Within its business, the company is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of components and solutions for capital goods and equipment. It has partnered with automakers to deliver engines ready for agricultural machinery and heavy vehicles, which shows its expertise in this specific field. The acquisition of MWM in 2022 further strengthened its position in this market, as it expanded its capabilities to offer more comprehensive solutions to customers.
In addition to focusing on capital goods, the company has been investing in decarbonization, with a look toward a multifuel future, especially biofuel generated from animal waste. This sustainable approach reflects its commitment to reducing emissions and boosting cleaner energy sources.
During its participation in Agritechnica Hannover, Tupy showed interest in strengthening relations with the biogas production chain, seeking inspiration in advanced technologies in Germany. In addition, the company has a pilot project focused on the circular economy, with initiatives that include the sale of fertilizers, the development of exclusive biodigesters, and partnerships with agricultural cooperatives.
With a forward-looking perspective, the company has adopted 4.0 manufacturing practices and is exploring fuel alternatives such as hydrogen and ethanol for agricultural machinery and heavy vehicles. By entering the consumer market (B2C), it seized opportunities to produce light towers with generators for large events and construction works in remote areas.
These efforts have consolidated its position as a global player which exports 70% of its production to more than 45 countries. The company’s dedication to developing local products and continuing education programs reflects its commitment to the future.
“Our vision is to drive innovation in the automotive and power generation sectors while maintaining a solid commitment to quality and sustainability. We are focused on expanding our capabilities, exploring new technologies, and developing solutions that not only meet the world’s current needs, but also lead all of us to a cleaner and more efficient future,” says Jorge Paulo Dantas Araujo, Product Engineering and Technical Assistance Manager at Tupy.

| Defense of interests and institutional representation are strategic objectives in the field of Government Relations |

Sindipeças works with the Government to improve competitiveness, foster a healthy business environment, and increase the introduction of Brazilian products into the markets of interest
Government relations are an important instrument for representing civil society at various stages of the process of making new state decisions that directly affect the lives of people and corporations.
At Sindipeças, this specialized contact between society, the private sector, and the public is based on a code of ethics and strict rules of compliance, seeking to influence the discussion with decision makers on matters that are of interest to the Brazilian auto parts industry.
The debate with the Federal Government, ministries, states, confederations, and other public agencies is supported by consolidated reports and data on the sector, through formal meetings and partnerships with other segments. The main themes discussed are taxation, reduction of bureaucracy, taxation equity among sectors, innovation and sustainability, trade agreements, and competitiveness of Brazilian products in domestic and foreign markets.
Luciano Pedregal, Head of Institutional and Government Affairs at Sindipeças, says that work in this field within the institution aims to increase competitiveness and innovation in the auto parts industry. “We discuss themes like mobility, tax reform, trade agreements, energy transition, cost Brazil, innovation, government funding, and competitiveness agenda. We have been working to make Brazilian products more and more accessible by developing a reliable supply chain”, says Pedregal.
In Sindipeças’ experience, government relations and compliance are two complementary areas that, together, bring benefits to the Brazilian auto parts industry, to its customers, and to society at large. |

Government Relations
“Important public policies are decided on a daily basis, and these decisions directly affect the lives of millions of people and businesses. Only through a structured work of government relations, i.e., this specialized and strategic bridge, this awareness of state, federal and legislative powers can be increased more successfully, thus making decision makers more knowledgeable of the reality of everyday life. An organization with well-developed institutional and government relations has better results and is more committed to civil society. Also, it can assist the public sector in implementing more effective, fair, and balanced measures.” (Source: FSB)
